1. Do you receive any error message? If yes, please reply with the error message and error code.

I would suggest you try the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and see if it fixes your issue.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Type “Troubleshooting” on the Windows Search bar and hit Enter.
2. On the left side of the Troubleshooting window, click on “View all”
3. Click on Hardware and Devices . Please provide a password if asked for it and click ok. (Follow the onscreen instructions)

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

If there is no drivers for LifeCam on manufacturer's website then install the drivers for Windows 7/8/8.1 from the manufacturer's website in compatibility mode and check if that works.
Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

I have tried all the Win version drivers. In fact for my LifeCam Win 7 is the highest available. All suggested compatibility modes do not work. The 'system' just reports there is no driver available. I even tried drivers for related cams, to see if any of those would work. They don't.

MicroSoft LifeCam 3.0 version not working in Windows 10..

I have searched all the articles here ... tried to apply everything but seems nothing is working

I have tried the following things:
* Boot windows in safe mode
* Uninstall lifecam driver, and reinstall it
* Update the lifecam driver
* Update directX
* Upgrade motherboard chipset drivers
* Use other USB port, both 2.0 and 3.0
* Uninstall Lifecam controller software

* Tried to install media pack

WebCam not working and also microphone not working :( :(

Please help me ASAP.

I find it interesting that a MS product can not be made to function on the newest MS platform. Historically this problem surfaced over 18 months ago with no 'workable' solution. except to state what common sense solutions are already out there or some idea about drivers that would take an IT graduate to understand. Between Skype and MS producing incompatible products, all the consumer can do is beware and pay some more.

Suggestion did NOT work, simply said to restart the system.

On startup, the LifeCam window says 'Initialization error'

Ps3 Controller Bluetooth Driver Windows 10

I just recently had this problem today setting up the webcam for my laptop.

Quite frustrating pulling and putting in the webcam and USB slot with nothing.

[Windows 10]

My Steps:

1. Windows Icon -> Settings

2. Connected Devices

a. Let detection try and find the webcam and install drivers

b. Use add a device to add manually

3. Adjust privacy settings to public for Camera & Microphone & Speech

a. Using the Cortana search box, type the word: Privacy

b. Select individually/repeat for Camera / Microphone / Speech, make to visible (select apps to use)

4. Restart

My install of Windows 10 had everything set to private, so even if the webcam was installed properly, the privacy settings made every application unaware of the webcam.

Hope this helps someone. Privacy settings was a last check and took 1/2 hr to crawl on the web to find.
